Jaden Teague-Núñez is a 17 year-old multi-instrumentalist born in Panama City, Panama. He moved to the USA in 2011 and began studying both steelpan and piano (classical and jazz) at ages 8 and 10, respectively.

Jaden continues to impress with his growing list of accomplishments. In 2024, he won the Crain-Maling Foundation Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s (CSO) Young Artists Competition, becoming the first steelpan player in the history of the event to do so. He will make his CSO debut in spring 2025.

Additionally, Teague-Nuñez has been a guest steelpan soloist with the Humboldt State University Steelband in Arcata, California, and at the Inside Out Steelband Festival in Austin, Texas. He was steelpan soloist with the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra in DeKalb, Illinois, and has performed with the Northern Illinois University (NIU) Steelband. Jaden has appeared at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, and, has performed on several occasions at the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA) Conference.

Teague-Nuñez was a guest performer at the 2023 Tuba Bach Festival in Big Rapids, Michigan, where he was honored to collaborate with guitar virtuoso Fareed Haque and tuba master Ed Mallet, and he frequently concertizes with his father Liam Teague as the duo TNTeague.

Today, Jaden attends DeKalb High School where he serves as the drummer for the jazz ensemble and steelband and is a member of the marching band. In addition to his passion for music, Jaden practices mixed martial arts (MMA).
